location: Odernheim at the river Glan is located in the south of the Municipality Bad Sobernheim in the middle of the
wine-growing district "Nahe" in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

II. historical background
The origin for the twinning between Odernheim und Treptow-Koepenick were common historical roots at the foundation of Müggelheim: The colony Mueggelheim was founded 1747 by 20 families from Odernheim. The Prussian king had lured them to come to Prussia by promising tax exemption and the freedom to practice their religion. The newcomers designated the place at the Müggelsee following their old hometown then Odernheim-Mueggelheim.

The main focus of the twinning is on local history.
1997: a street in Odernheim was named "Mueggelheimer-Straße"
regular contacts and exchanges, among other things participation of Odernheim citizens at the traditional Müggelheim festival and inversely participation of Müggelheim citizen at the wine festival in Odernheim
the Mueggelheim association for local history is the main actor within the twinning
